Dora Bakopoulou was born in Athens. As a child, in New York, she was taken up by the famous conductor Dimitris Mitropoulos.
She studied under Marika
Papaioannou
at the Athens Conservatory, where she received the first prize upon graduation. She continued her studies under Professor Luis Hiltbrand at the Geneva Conservatory, where she graduated (Premier prix de Virtuosite avec distinction). She also studied with Nikita Magalof. At the Salzburg Summer Master Class she received tuition from Friedrich Gulda, and in Vienna, where she was taught by Paul Badura Skoda and Alfred Brendel, she was awarded the first prize of the Master Class. She also received prizes at the Munich and Vercelli (Italy) International Competitions.
Dora Bakopoulou has performed all over the world, including London (Wigmre Hall, Albert Hall), Moscow (Mally Sal), St. Petersburg (Aktiabre Theatre), New York. She has toured in Germany, Belgium, Romania and Egypt, as well as the official Greek representative in numerous cultural events abroad (Belgium, Europalia, Hamburg, London and Warsaw).

In the CD, Dora Bakopoulou playing on the piano works by Bach, Scriabin, Rachmaninov and Brahms, reveals her skilled, adept musical individuality and sensibility.
